Writer’s Gathering:

Do you love to write? Would you like to fellowship with other writers? Would you like to learn more about the writing, publishing, and editing process? Then register to join Christina Fox (editor of enCourage) and Kristi James (with P&R Publishing) to discuss all things writing. This gathering will meet on Friday night during the dessert buffet at 8:00 pm.

Speakers:

Teri Anderson and her husband, Mark, are members of Spring Meadows PCA in Las Vegas, NV. They have two adult “kids,” a son-in-law, and enjoy their 2 year old grand daughter, Haven, as often as possible! Teri’s early work history includes managing a community pool and swimming program. She taught high school for a number of years in the arenas of English, Computer Technology, and Gifted Education before beginning her motherhood role and a resulting home-based Mary Kay Cosmetics business, becoming a “mompreneur “before it was trendy! Currently, as an Independent Sales Director, she provides training and mentoring for women of all ages across the USA. In the volunteer world, she served several terms as a Women’s Advisor to the Board of Covenant College, and as an Alpha Omicron Pi VP and International Board member. In her local church women’s ministry, Teri has served on the Women’s Ministry Team, a Sunday School teacher, and as a Bible Study leader. She has served as a PCA Women’s Ministry Trainer and retreat speaker since 2001. Teri describes herself as a tomboy who once did not like girls much, so she rejoices in the irony of God’s transforming power to not only prepare a career working primarily with women, but making teaching redeemed women her God-given passion, passing on what it means to fulfill our design as women both in the home and in the church.

CB Campano lives in Lakeland, Florida with husband, Frank, who serves as a ruling elder at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Their daughter, Elizabeth, is a freshman at Polk State College. CB has been on staff at Covenant Presbyterian Church for 12 years as the Congregational Care Coordinator. Her responsibilities include Biblical counseling, mercy/care ministry coordination alongside pastors, elders and deacons, and women’s teaching and discipleship. CB holds a Biblical Counseling Certificate issued by Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF). She currently serves on the PCA Women’s Ministry National Team as the Florida Regional Advisor.

Melanie Cogdill serves as a PCA Women’s Ministry Trainer. She is also the managing editor of the Christian Research Journal (equip.org) and hosts its weekly podcast Postmodern Realities. She is the general editor of a book of essays, Women’s Ministry for the 21st Century (PCA CDM, 2019).

Courtney Doctor is an author, Bible teacher, frequent conference and retreat speaker, and periodic blogger. She received an MDiv from Covenant Theological Seminary in 2013 and is the author of From Garden to Glory: A Bible Study on the Bible’s Story (2016). She currently serves on the advisory board for Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA. God has blessed Courtney and her husband, Craig, with four wonderful children (Austin, Bradon, Shelby, and Rebecca) as well as two amazing daughters-in-law (Ruth and Jordan) — and their first grandson, Bo!

Ellen Dykas received her MA in Biblical Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary in 1999 and serves as the Women’s Ministry Coordinator for Harvest USA, a national ministry focused on gospel-centered discipleship and teaching regarding sexuality. Ellen loves ministry to women and is most passionate about mentoring, teaching God’s Word and spiritually nurturing others to walk deeply with Jesus. Her home church is New Life Dresher, PCA in Dresher, PA.

Stephanie Formenti is the Chapel Associate for Discipleship at Covenant College. She earned a Masters in Theological Studies from Covenant Theological Seminary where she met her husband, Gustavo. Together they served in Cape Town, South Africa as missionaries with MTW and are coming to Covenant after living in Brazil for three years. Stephanie is passionate about Word-based discipleship and is thrilled to be serving and walking alongside the students at Covenant. She and her husband have three young children, Gabriella, Lucas and Jonathan, and live in Lookout Mt., GA.

Vanessa K. Hawkins is the Director of Women’s Ministry at First Presbyterian Church – Augusta. In 2017, she received her Master of Divinity from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. Her lay counseling work, student advocacy and parent mentoring in the public schools of St. Louis and Brooklyn, IL helped prompt her current pursuit of a Masters in Counseling. She is honored to be the wife of her third grade friend Marcus, and together they are the parents of Kayla, Sydney, Chelsey and a rambunctious boxer named Caspian. She enjoys a moderate hike, good conversation and a hot cup of tea.

Karen Hodge serves as the Coordinator for PCA Women’s Ministry, where she seeks to connect women and churches to one another and to sound resources. She is also having the time of her life serving alongside her husband Chris, Senior Pastor at Naperville Presbyterian Church in Naperville, IL. Chris and Karen have two children Anna Grace Botka and Haddon Hodge that round out “Team Hodge”. It is from the perspective of a wife, mother, leader and fellow pilgrim that she hopes to offer insights from God’s Word concerning how she and they can most effectively learn to enjoy and extend God’s glory. Karen, along with Susan Hunt, authored Transformed: Life-taker to Life-giver and Life-giving Leadership.

Susan Hunt is the wife of Gene Hunt, a retired PCA pastor, and they have 3 adult children and 12 grandchildren. She is the former PCA Coordinator for Women’s Ministry and served as a consultant to CDM. Susan is the author and co-author of several books for women’s ministries as well as TRUE, the CDM discipleship curriculum series on biblical womanhood for teen girls, and Transformed: Life-taker to Life-giver and Life-giving Leadership. She has also authored several books for children, including Sammy and His Shepherd and My ABC Bible Verses from the Psalms.

Paula Miles is wife to Kevin, a ruling elder at Clemson Presbyterian, and mother of Wimberly (and Charlie), Janie, Clary, and Judy. She grew up in Anderson, SC and graduated from Clemson University. Paula has experienced the joy of being both a full-time homemaker and a public-school teacher. Studying and teaching God’s Word is her passion, as well as coming alongside women to encourage them to understand their unique design and fulfill their individual callings. Paula is on staff at Clemson Presbyterian as women’s ministry coordinator since 2014, is a conference speaker, and serves on the national women’s ministry team for the PCA as a women’s ministry trainer. She enjoys regular exercise, watching sporting events, and investing in the lives of her family.

Connie Miller has been married to Mike for 35 years and has three children. She was on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 12 years at USC. Then, she served alongside her husband while church planting in Jupiter, FL. Connie now serves with her husband at Christ Covenant Church in Matthews, NC where she is involved with Titus II Ministries and Women’s Bible Studies. She is serving as a CDM Women’s Ministry Trainer and as an Advisor for Women’s International Ministry.

Married to a PCA Army Chaplain, Chandra Oliver travels the globe following her soldier husband. This past summer they moved from South Carolina to Washington – driving through 14 states is a long drive, but the opportunity to visit friends all along the way was a beautiful reminder of one of the “gifts” of military life. Loving a good challenge, Chandra enjoys studying the unique context of each military assignment to see where or how the Life-Giving truths of Biblical Womanhood can be shared in an ever-changing community. Prior to the military, Chandra served in women’s ministry in local church plants and PresWIC in the North Texas Presbytery. Currently, Chandra volunteers on the PCA Women’s Ministry Team as an Advisor-At-Large for Chaplain and Military Wives.

Kathy Stair is a PCA CDM Women’s Ministry Trainer. She is wife to Randy, ruling elder and President of the PCA Foundation. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. “Work” while being a mom, has been as a volunteer for Young Life, Crisis Pregnancy and PCA local church women’s ministries. She also has been employed part time for Young Life and full time and part time for the PCA’s Discipleship Ministries as assistant to the Women’s Ministry Coordinator. She loves creating with flowers, especially for weddings, bringing to the wedding a picture of all of creation rejoicing at the wedding supper of the Lamb. Kathy has served in local PCA women’s ministries in a variety of church models in different regions of the country.

Lisa Tarplee graduated from Belhaven College where she met the Lord in 1999. Her ministry path began as a leader on campus in college and then led her to work in inner-city ministry with Desire Street Ministries for several years. She now resides in TX with here husband and two sons where she continues to teach and disciple women to love Jesus and live in His Word. Lisa serves as the Regional Advisor for the West.

Ronjanett Taylor is the wife of ruling elder Bryant, mother of three, and GiGi to two little granddaughters. She has been a member of Redeemer Church PCA in Jackson, MS since its inception in 2004 and coordinates the Sister Cooks ministry. She currently serves as the At Large Advisor for Diversity on the PCA Women’s Ministry team. The common thread running through all her ministry involvement is serving and connecting God’s people of many ethnic, cultural, and economic backgrounds, with joy through the Gospel. She works full time as state director for the America Reads – Mississippi AmeriCorps Program.

Marcie Tuten is a wife to Chris and a mom to three little ladies.  She lives in Atlanta, GA where she likes to drink coffee, read, and spend time with her family. Marcie is a PCA CDM Women’s Ministry Trainer.

Susan Tyner recently moved to Fort Worth from Oxford, MS, where she worked as the Coordinator of Women’s Ministry at Christ Presbyterian Church and enjoyed her role as Mid-South Regional Advisor.  She continues to serve as an Advisor to the RUF Permanent Committee.  Although this is a year of transition for Susan, she already enjoys Texas and looks forward to what God has planned for her family there. Her husband Lee and she have five children and an almost empty nest.  Between unpacking boxes, you can find Susan cooking, dancing in a gym class, or doing (less) laundry.

Jane Anne Wilson, wife to David and mother of four adult children, earned her nursing degree from University of Delaware and worked in pediatrics. She grew up in the PCA and has served in a variety of ministry roles. She presently serves on the women’s ministry leadership team at her church, and is the CDM Northeast Regional Advisor. She enjoys her grandbabies, long walks with her husband, and family reunions.

Lunch for First Timers:

On Thursday at 12:00 noon, we are offering lunch (additional $15) for first-timers!  Find out what to expect at Leadership Training and hear tips for getting the most from your LT experience. Enjoy an informative (what DO all those acronyms mean?), high-energy, and personal introduction to LT, complete with give-aways! Plus, it’s a great place to meet people. Last year, it was exciting to see women interact as if they’d known each other for years, but they had just met the day before at the luncheon. We have space for 140 to attend the first timer’s lunch.

Directions: Traffic in Atlanta is heavy…allow plenty of time!

How much is parking? Parking is $8/day with unlimited in/out privileges.` There are NO coupons for reduced parking. (In past years, those who have come commuted from home were able to receive a special rate; however, that is NOT available from this hotel.) We recommend carpooling.

Do I need to rent a car if I’m flying? No! There is a hotel shuttle.

Are there refrigerators in the rooms? Yes, there are refrigerators in each room (no microwaves).

Is breakfast included at the hotel? No, breakfast is NOT included. There is a restaurant and a Starbucks.

Where should I eat lunch on Thursday? If you are not attending the lunch for first timers, there are several places to eat within the hotel. There will also be a food truck available with a lunch menu.

Can I fly in to Atlanta on Thursday morning? Yes, if your flight arrives by 11:30, you should be able to arrive at the hotel in time for the first session.
